Solo oggi gli eredi hanno dato alle stampe il prezioso manoscritto conservato per oltre un secolo dalla famiglia del Canonico Giuseppe Guerra, primicerio della cattedrale di Manfredonia, città natale dell'autore. La narrazione è condotta in uno stile accurato, sviluppata con straordinaria fantasia e una non comune conoscenza del folclore e delle vicende storiche della Puglia del XVII secolo, assillata dai pirati e dominata dagli spagnoli. Il racconto si apre, drammaticamente, sull'invasione della città di Manfredonia a opera dei Turchi (1620), che fu occasione di saccheggi, distruzione, morte. Amori contrastati, gelosie che spingono al delitto e "lei" è per tutti "la strega". Titolo: La strega di Manfredonia
