14548 — Antique engraving of the Kaaba and Masjid Haram in Mecca titled: "De Kabba of Het Huis Gods Te Mecca" from a Dutch travel account on Arabia and the Middle East circa 1750. Size: 7.5" x 8." The engraving illustrates at its center the Kaaba and the surrounding domed structures as it was in 1700's. We can see over 20 Muslims praying in the outside court. Un-mounted and unframed trimmed original fold. This image was later slightly changed and reprinted in several 18th century books including the Al Coran de Mahomet of Du Ryer. An important print in very good condition. unknown books
