br.

New English Paperback. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). In English. 133 p. This book has been written for the sons and daughters of Africa to wake up and take contingent action. An important starting point is to ask where Africa is in the 21st century when other countries that were one time poor like Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, and India are making the headlines today with stunning economic growths. Based on interviews and literature reviews this book admits that the unseen, hypocritic legislation and practice of magic and occultism at the higher levels of the state as this book sees it, are a corruption and disease of religion, national security, national development and the smooth integration of the country into one prosperous whole. Therefore, to think that witchcraft and sorcery can develop a nation is a farce and a serious policy mistake that necessitates being overhauled. The subjective and broad based conclusion is that Africans must rise now and take affirmative action before the aristocracy and kleptocracy sells the entire continent for a mussel of bred and sensation of vain perishable power. "Real change is not given - it's taken by fire and by force".

Muhlert. - INHALT : Acknowledgments ----- Foreword Betty and Max Stanley ----- Preface Christopher D Roy ----- Maps ----- Catalog ----- Western Sudan ----- Guinea Coast ----- Equatorial Forest ----- Southern Savannah ----- Selected Bibliography ----- Index of Styles. - ... I have followed the long-standing convention in grouping the sculpture of the Punu and Lumbo under the name "Ogowe River Style." In this case, the individual styles of these groups are so difficult to distinguish that we are forced to use a more general "regional style" name. I have also used other geographical features in designating style areas, such as the widely accepted "Cameroon Grasslands Style" and the "Benue River Style" (or "Benue basin"). Finally, I have broken the precedent set by previous studies of the sculpture of Nigeria and have grouped many of the styles of the basin of the Benue, including the Jaba, Chamba, Mumuye, Mama, and Mambila, with styles of other ethnic groups in the Western Sudan. In terms of climate, geography, culture, and sculptural styles the Benue basin is related much more closely to groups to the west than to groups to the south, in the forests of southeastern Nigeria. ...
