Partito da Saint-Louis, in Senegal, mosse per impervie regioni alla volta del lago Ciad attraversando il bacino del Niger, toccando Sokoto, Kano e infine Kuka sulle sponde del lago. Il vol. è ornato (nelle testate, nei grandi capilettera e agli occhietti dei vari capitoli) da affascinanti "decorazioni in rosso e nero che riproducono arabeschi tratti da moschee e case tripolitane, e motivi ornamentali desunti dai vestiti e dalle suppellettili delle popolazioni arabe, berbere e tuareg della Tripolitania". In fine un “piccolo glossario arabo”. Usi, costumi e rinascita della colonia italiana, da Tripoli attraverso la Gefara, il Gebel e il deserto, fino a Gadames. Solo la copertina con picc. strappi alle cerniere, altrimenti esempl. ben conservato.
