St Petersburg 1898. 84 pp.</p><p>One of the first edition of the libretto of the opera by the famous Russian composer.</p><p><em>Sadko</em> is an opera by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in seven scenes. The libretto was written by the composer himself on the basis of the Russian <em>byliny</em> about Sadko the gusli-player. <em>Sadko</em> after <em>The Snow Maiden</em> and before <em>The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh</em> is hardly less than the most significant creation of Rimsky-Korsakov. Here the highest harmony of all elements was achieved once again confirming the immutability and vitality of Glinka's precepts. This opera deeply national and original opened a new chapter in the history of Russian music.</p><p>The libretto of the opera-bylina by N. Rimsky-Korsakov <em>Sadko</em> with the full text.
