Thirty-eight coloured photographs of Yalta the Russian resort in the Crimea, most postcard size, a few half-size, some double size. Descriptions in English, French, Spanish, German and two Cyrilic languages. Undated, ca 1955. Very scarce.

Traduit de l'anglais sur la deuxième edition. Un volume di VIII-345 pagine. Legatura originale in tutta percallina marrone, con fregi a secco ai piatti e titolo dorato al dorso. Ritratto di Vicars e titolo inciso dell'edizione inglese all'inizio.. Poche bruniture. Vikars era ufficiale inglese e fervente evangelico. Nel suo diario il racconto della spedizione in Crimea.

Le tavole, incise su carta China e applicate alla pag., raffigurano usi e costumi, paesaggi e vedute (in antiporta è rappresentato lo Zar Nicola I a cavallo). Prima versione dal tedesco di Enrico Valtancoli Montazio. I viaggi dello scrittore e geografo tedesco Johann Georg Kohl nell'anno 1838 all'interno dei territori dell'Impero russo posti al Nord del Mar Nero. Leggera brunitura alla litografia, peraltro volume in ottimo stato di conservazione.
Tratta da “Seat of War in the East”. Paul & Dominic Colnaghi & C.°, London 1855 – 1856. Tonolitografia in recente ma bella coloritura a mano, cm 37 x 55,5 circa (il foglio). Disponiamo di numerose tavole appartenenti alla prima o seconda serie. Le tavole sono tutte delineate da William Simpson e litografate da vari autori, tra cui E. Walker, J. Needham, T. Picken e altri. Tranne un minimo e lieve foxing, bella coloritura e in buono stato di conservazione.
