Andric si conferma interprete e commosso cantore di questa terra tormentata. Ivo Andric, (1892-1975), was a Yugoslav[a] novelist, poet and short story writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961. His writings dealt mainly with life in his native Bosnia under Ottoman rule. Of his three novels, written during the Second World War, two -Travnicka hronika (1945; Bosnian Story) and Na Drini cuprija (1945; The Bridge on the Drina)- are concerned with the history of Bosnia.

A pictorial record of the work of 14000 young men and women who joined the youth brigades in Yugoslavia after the Second World War and worked on the Brcko to Banovici rail line in early 1946. This illustrated relic of Communist propaganda depicts work on the project with mechanically reproduced photographs mounted on 47 pieces of stiff paper with captions in French Russian and English. Quite a scarce bit of railroadiana with no holdings listed in OCLC COPAC or the BNF. UCLA holds an uncatalogued copy in its UN Relief and Rehabilitation Archive.
