194653026n.p. 1946. Ephemera. Loose leaves in the publisher's box. Subtitled on the first leaf in French Russian and English Results of Work Achieved by the First Group of Brigades. Octavo 6 by 9 inches. 48 leaves including one map unbound but laid into a folding cloth box stamped with the title on the front cover. A pictorial record of the work of 14000 young men and women who joined the youth brigades in Yugoslavia after the Second World War and worked on the Brcko to Banovici rail line in early 1946. This illustrated relic of Communist propaganda depicts work on the project with mechanically reproduced photographs mounted on 47 pieces of stiff paper with captions in French Russian and English. Quite a scarce bit of railroadiana with no holdings listed in OCLC COPAC or the BNF. UCLA holds an uncatalogued copy in its UN Relief and Rehabilitation Archive. Plates very good if a bit browned from age. Folding cloth case frayed at the corners else very good.<br> (n.p.) unknown

The large Atlas Volume was published as an annex to the Memorandum and titled: "Annexe au Mémorandum du Gouvernement de la République Fédérative Populaire de Yougoslavie sur le problème économique de Trieste." Trieste Trst seaport in Northeast Italy on an inlet Gulf of Trieste of the Adriatic. Part of Austria since 1382 it was annexed by Italy in 1918. In September 1943 the German army has occupied the city. It was liberated by Partisans in 1945 and went under Allied military occupation until 1947. Under the terms of the 1947 Peace Treaty with Italy a Governor for the Free Territory of Trieste was to be selected and appointed by the United Nations Security Council. Until such appointment was made the United States Great Britain and Yugoslavia were to administer and protect that Territory. In 1954 it was divided between Italy and Yugoslavia.
