P6877Munich: Free Europe Press 1954. Single folded leaf measuring 20.8 à 14.6 cm printed to recto and verso and when folded resembling a US airmail envelope. With one duplicate copy; laid in is a small flyer depicting the Czechoslovak and US flags with the text "The American people greet the Czechoslovak peoples' opposition in their fight for a free tomorrow." Very good. Scarce anti-communist flyer in Czech one duplicate copy in all likelihood printed in Germany by Free Europe Press and distributed over Czechoslovakia via balloon in 1954. The flier mentions the recent currency reform 1953 which decimated the savings of peasants and workers and led to considerable unrest. It addresses workers and peasants as members of a "people's opposition" and urges them to raise awareness among others about possible forms of resistance and the growth of the opposition movement. It also references the "Ten Demands" list compiled by Radio Free Europe workers based on interviews with Czechoslovak refugees. The "envelope" features a printed stamp with T. G. Masaryk and the "postal stamp" reads "Pravda vÃtÄžÃ" or "The truth wins." Also laid in is a small flyer depicting the Czechoslovak and US flags with the text "The American people greet the Czechoslovak peoples' opposition in their fight for a free tomorrow." The envelopes were sent on April 29 1954 and were also issued in Slovak.
