The dustwrapper carries the first state price of 12s 6d rather than the later 15s. The first edition of Bone's contribution to this wonderful and much sought-after series was published in 1938. This thoroughly revised edition is scarce in its own right, especially in this condition. VERY SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.

Half leather black spine and spine edge leather with leather corners with violet cloth boards. Fair plus condition with a moderately rubbed/soiled cover. The spine title is rubbed away. Apparently missing a front and rear free endpaper if there was one. For the most part it's generally fox-free with some exceptions and a couple erased pencil marks on the very last few pages. Heavy vertical crease mark on the last page with some mostly surface creases on other pages. Few pages with corner or edge chips/tears. And the last few pages have some mild stains. The book is divided into different sections with separate title pages. Just under 12 x 7-1/2 x 2 inches. Rare religious book. PRINTED BY NEILL & COMPANY Hardcover
