The limitation page is the verso of the title page. This copy is numbered 118 of 250 copies and is signed "CCJ Jr." Jones authored the prefatory note pages 3-8. The first edition of this tract was originally published in 1724 with few known copies. The author settled 600 of his countrymen in Purrysburg South Carolina. Interior contents mostly clean. Pen notations applied to many images 2 albums with "Rubattel & Weyermann S.A." in gilt on upper cover but all four are from the same source photographs generally very good to excellent a few rubbed. Albums of the period one will be improved some & internally in very good condition. An extensive photographic record of all the finely detailed Rubattel & Weyermann watch casings made over the period. Each is numbered consecutively and additional annotations are frequently present. All in all an extraordinary record of what was produced from this Swiss watch case maker. Rubattel & Weyermann are the same company that in 2002 became integrated to the Swatch Group. Of special interest are the illustrations and colour plates in this set featuring the artwork of Otto Baumberger 1889-1961 famed Swiss painter and poster artist whose mastery of lithography techniques allowed him to create striking images. A lovely and unusual decorative "gift" binding. Scarce. English language edition also issued in German 1898. This account is very well illustrated showing details of the environs in a way that is surely uncommon. Among the known photographers are Louis Blanc Alfred Bruand an optician named Fransioli and professor Hans Schardt 1858-1931 geologist of Montreux. / Emil Yung the upper cover gives the author's name as "Emile Yung" a different spelling was a professor at the University of Geneva. He was an early proponent in glacial climatic fluctuation which was not widely accepted at the end of the 19th century.
