A lovely and unusual decorative "gift" binding. Scarce. English language edition also issued in German 1898. This account is very well illustrated showing details of the environs in a way that is surely uncommon. Among the known photographers are Louis Blanc Alfred Bruand an optician named Fransioli and professor Hans Schardt 1858-1931 geologist of Montreux. / Emil Yung the upper cover gives the author's name as "Emile Yung" a different spelling was a professor at the University of Geneva.
