Among those tried and found guilty were such old Revolutionary-era stalwarts as NIkolai Bukharin Alexei Rykov Christian Rakovsky Vladimir Ivanov Isaac Zelensky and many others. All but three of the defendants were executed immediately in the wake of the trials; the remainder were given prison sentences and later executed in 1941.
