8vo., with engraved title-vignette, neat signature on front paste-down; original cloth, sides with triple frame border enclosing a large geometric floral device all in blind, gilt back, corners lightly bruised else a very good, crisp, clean copy. Berens' account was first published (by Rivington) in 1839 and proved a very useful summary of earlier histories by Burnet, Collier, Fuller, Heylin and Strype among others. It was several times re-issued (commonly undated) by SPCK into the 1860s. Scarce in this edition and condition.
