Photographien gut erhalten Rückseiten teils mit Notaten und Kleberesten. Die insgesamt achtzig Photographien sind am Abend des großen Fests für den bedeutenden Verleger Wolf Jobst Siedler am 25. Januar 1986 entstanden. Siedler war seit Anfang der 1960er Jahre als konservativ-kritischer Journalist Essayist und Verleger in Westberlin tätig. Insbesondere seine verlegerische Tätigkeit im eigenen Siedler Verlag machte ihn für viele Menschen in der BRD zu einem bedeutenden Zeitgenossen. Im Januar 1986 feierte Siedler seinen 60. Geburtstag mit Würdigungen in allen wichtigen Medien der westdeutschen Öffentlichkeit. Die Verlagsgruppe Bertelsmann lud für Sonnabend den 25.01.1986 zu einem Abendessen Ort des Empfangs war das damalige Ägyptische Museum in West-Berlin Östlicher Stülerbau Schloßstraße. Das große Konvolut enthält zunächst die Original-Einladungskarte der Bertelsmann-Gruppe im Kuvert mit beiliegender Menu-Karte und dem separaten Hinweis: "Es werden keine Reden gehalten". Die erste Photographie zeigt eine Aufnahme des ganzen Saals mit Ansicht der Tischaufstellung für ca. 170-200 geladene Gäste. Die folgenden Bilder zeigen Aufnahmen von Personengruppen: meist 3-4 auf einer Ansicht teils auch 2 Personen im Gespräch. Für den Empfang zu Ehren des zeitgenössisch bedeutenden Verlegers wurde eine lange Tafel durch den ganzen Saal vorbereitet desweiteren ca. 8-10 Rundtische für mehrere Personen. Ein Blick auf die Sitzordnung für den Abend ist überaus reizvoll: denn rechts neben dem konservativen Verleger saß der ehemalige Bundeskanzler Willy Brandt links von ihm der wohl gewichtigste Bankier der alten Bundesrepublik Hermann Abs. An der langen Tafel saßen die berühmten Verlegerkollegen nebeneinander. Hier saßen Siegfried Unseld Ernst Klett und Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt dicht beieinander. Unter den Gästen sind zahlreiche Kollegen aus Verlagen und Journalismus West-Berliner und bundesdeutsche Politiker Publizisten und Wissenschaftler welche zeitgenössisch - für die westdeutsche Öffentlichkeit vor Ende des Kalten Krieges und der deutschen Wiedervereinigung - von eminenter Bedeutung waren. Das vorliegende Konvolut enthält 80 Aufnahmen mit einem Überblick zu den meisten Anwesenden. Zu den Fotografierten gehören Bruno Kreisky ehemaliger Bundeskanzler von Österreich Siegfried Unseld Suhrkamp Verlag Lonny von Schleicher Stieftochter von Kurt von Schleicher Andreas von Hardenberg Ernst Engelberg Historiker damals DDR Joachim Fest Publizist Hermann Abs Bankier Eberhard Diepgen CDU/Regierender Bürgermeister West-Berlin Willy Brandt Klaus Bölling Publizist Günter Gaus Publizist Ernst Klett Verleger Werner Stichnote Autor Marion Gräfin Yorck von Wartenburg. Einige der genannten Gäste sind auch mehrfach auf den Photographien zu sehen wie zum Beispiel Willy Brandt und Hermann Abs sowie natürlich der Verleger Wolf Jobst Siedler selbst. Zahlreiche Gäste insbesondere aus Politik und Kultur des damaligen West-Berlins sind auf den Aufnahmen zu sehen und hier nicht identifiziert. Hier werden die Verbindungen zwischen dem konservativen Verleger und den Größen der westdeutschen Politik auch parteiübergreifend Wirtschaft und Publizistik augenscheinlich.
