Nella ricerca, in questo ambito, vengono riportati i risultati degli studi fatti da competenti, anche critici musicali, come Rodolfo Celletti, che riescono a delineare con coerenza tutti gli aspetti del celebre tenore partenopeo nel rivelare, rilevare e l'evolversi della sua inimitabile vocalità tenorile in sintonia con la sensibilità verista. Sono evidenziati anche altri apporti che possono sembrare semplici ripetizioni, ma, nel contesto, aggiungono o sottolineano aspetti sulle qualità umane e artistiche del grande tenore. Nel riportare le conclusioni dei conoscitori delle qualità artistiche-musicali di Enrico Caruso, interprete di opere veriste, ho cercato di mantenerne il "pathos" che lo sottendono.
