Light wear to the corners and tips; otherwise very good.<br /> <br /> Badger 1792-1852 was a leader of the so-called Christian Church part of the movement that emerged at the beginning of the 19th century to remove all schisms in Christendom and unite all believers in a single nondenominational and noncreedal polity. Born in New Hampshire Badger became a minister at age 20 and spent the majority of his career in western New York with extensive preaching tours in New England Pennsylvania Ohio and Kentucky. He was the first editor of the Gospel Palladium 1832-39 one of the Christian Church's earliest periodicals; co-author of an 1830 hymnal; and a founding trustee of Meadville PA Theological School. Holland's memoir is an important source for Milo T. Morrill's 1912 history of the Christian Church. It includes a lengthy account of Badger's ministry to the convicted murderer David D. How. C.S.
