Carta geografica tratta dal raro "Atlante Geografico" dell'abate Bartolomeo Borghi (1750-1821), cartografo, incisore ed editore che tra l'altro pubblicò l'atlante del Pazzini Carli in Siena. Incisione in rame, coloritura coeva dei contorni, in ottimo stato di conservazione. A rare map from "Atlante Geografico" of priest Bartolomeo Borghi. Copperplate with original outline colour, in very good condition. Bartolomeo Borghi(1750-1821) was an italian cartographer, engraver and publisher (editor of Atlante Geografico by Pazzini Carli, Siena 1788/1800).

First Dublin Edition, no half-title, with the final advertisement leaf, 62 [2]pp., disbound. Father Bougeant was born at Quimper in Brittany, in 1690. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1706, taught classics in the College of Caen and Nevers and lived for a number of years in Paris until his death in 1743. His "Amusement Philosophique sur le Language des Bestes," published in 1737, became a cause of considerable embarrassment to him, and resulted in a brief exile from Paris. The work was controversial in that it considered whether animals had a soul and a language, and if this could be viewed as a sign of reason. He approaches this subject and reduces it to an absurd one, concluding that it does not represent a threat to religion and grants souls to animals which would inhabit their bodies like a punishment.

8vo., with a frontispiece and 5 plates, free endpapers moderately browned, neat prize inscription dated 1922 on front free endpaper; original blue pictorial cloth, upper board and backstrip elaborately blocked and lettered in yellow, green and black to a design of a Roundhead mounted cavalryman facing a fortress, top and fore-edges lightly dust-soiled else a very good, clean copy. With the trade ticket of W. Gamage of London on rear paste-down. Brereton's classic tale was first published in 1901 with eight plates by the same illustrator. Scarce in any edition.
First Edition, folding table, stab-holes on inner blank margins, [16], 128 pp., disbound. Brewster was the author of "Essays in Trade and Navigation, in Five Parts" (1695). Only the first part, which included evidence of his opposition to the new Bank of England, was published. In 1702 he issued "New Essays on Trade", and the anonymous book "A Discourse Concerning Ireland and the Different Interests Thereof" (1698), relating to the woollen issue, has also been ascribed to him. Sm. folio, First Edition, with numerous photographs throughout; green cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in gilt, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper. From modest beginnings in 1937, the Northern Ireland Territorials were reformed in 1947 from the many volunteers who had served in either the TA or the Supplementary reserve. The new and thriving force of volunteers were raised into an Anti-Aircraft Brigade and Infantry Brigade group totalling more than 6000 personnel by 1950. EXTREMELY SCARCE.
