Mazure Duhamel was Curator of the Marine Observatory and Professor of the navigation school. OCLC notes two other works by Mazure-Duhamel 1812 Marseille on elements of Arithmetic where Mazure Duhamel was "Teacher of Seamanship" and Toulon 1825 on the construction of tables.<br/><br/>The subtitle loosely translated explains the contents fairly well: "Memoir on Nautical Astronomy In which Part 1 discusses methods for time and latitude of vessels; Part 2 it happens by geometrical considerations has very simple formulas to calculate the influence of observation errors on the results concluded; Part 3 Finally we explain the formation and use of four new tables and very convenient for the errors of the results and also to judge the best of times;" Cotter in his "A History of Nautical Astronomy pp 284-5" notes that M. Mazure Duhamel published in this work the prototype of "A and B correction tables" used in position-line navigation Heath.<br/><br/>Less than a dozen copies in OCLC/Worldcat as of this listing.
