EDITION LIMITED TO 500 COPIES. LASCELLES ABERCROMBIE'S COPY WITH HIS SIGNATURE ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. Published on September 29 following US publication by Mitchell Kennerley on August 7 of the same year. Lascelles Abercrombie 1881-1938 poet and critic was educated at Malvern College. He was Lecturer in Poetry at Liverpool from 1919-22 Professor of English Literature at Leeds 1922-29 and at London 1929-35 and was appointed Goldsmith's Reader at Oxford 1935-38. Elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 1937 he was a distinguished metaphysical poet whose works include 'Mary and the Bramble' 1910 'The Sale of St. Thomas' 1931 and numerous criticial studies.
