In the nineteenth century during the author's residence at Holland House the House was a notable gathering place for Whigs.Sadly the house was largely destroyed during the Blitz in 1940. This work provides a unique and important history of the great house before its destruction.With the armorial bookplate of J. F. D. Tutt to each front pastedown.Marie Fox the Princess Marie of Liechtenstein was an English writer a foundling of unknown paternity. She was adopted by Henry Fox and his wife and subsequently moved into their family home at Holland House. In signed crushed morocco bindings with gilt detailing. Boards exceptionally bright. Back strips age toned as is common with blue morocco. Bookplates to front pastedowns. Internally firmly bound.
