The author, with poet James Fenton, wrote an interesting and hilarious account of their exploration of jungles and mountains, following the trails of previous naturalists. This is the author's first travel book, which launched his career as a travel writer.

Estratto dalla rivista settimanale "Le tour du monde" edita a Parigi negl'anni 1860 e seguenti illustra il viaggio di G: Lejean nell'isola del Borneo, con belle ed interessanti incisioni raffiguranti paesaggi, danze, esorcismi, costumi e le carte dei percorsi. Lieve brunitura della carta. In bello stato.
