This new edition of the main event for the promotion exchange and debate of contemporary graphic art held in Peru has managed to summon artists groups and workshops national and foreign under the curatorial theme "Transfer: Departures and Returns from the Graphic Arts". Spanning from the more traditional forms of engraving to the more contemporary digital expressions the Biennale featured twenty exhibitions in 17 art galleries and parallel activities such as interventions conferences and workshops. Participating institutions included Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima Municipalidad de Miraflores Caja Metropolitana de Lima Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores Universidad Ricardo Palma Alianza Francesa and the Centro Cultural de España. "We start with a very specific objective for this version of the biennial space not only promotion exchange and debate from the contemporary graphics highlighting their creative validity its contribution to history art criticism and education. Moreover even more in an environment like ours the Peruvian where engraving culture in many cases excluded. Therefore this needs to establish a multiple route linked with memory and is part of the essence of the engraving.
