Contiene la biografía de Juan de Villegas (1509 - 1553), el fundador de Nueva Segovia y la relación de los primeros años de historia de Barquisimeto. Curiosamente, el 15 de enero de 2011, la estatua de Villegas, que presidía una plaza central de la ciudad, fue decapitada y retirada de su lugar tras un juicio popular, siendo acusado el conquistador de asesino de los aborígenes gayones, jira jaras y otros pueblos que habitaron el actual estado Lara e insaciable explotador de las minas de oro de Buría y Borburata.

Tomo primero: " La colonia, la independencia, la Gran Colombia " di 716 pp. con xiii tavole in nero non comprese nel testo e 5 carte del territorio più volte ripiegate in chiusura del volume. Un piccolo strappo interessa la prima pagina della prefazione e impedisce la lettura della parte sinistra delle prime sette righe. Tomo segundo: " Reconstitucion de la Republica, la oligarquia conservadora " di 658 pp. Tomo tercero: " La oligarquia liberal " di 472 pp. Leggere fioriture e alcune piccole mende riguardano le copertine di ogni volume causa il tipo della carta a suo tempo utilizzato, il testo è pulito e sempre fruibile. L'opera è comunque in un buono stato complessivo, spedizione in 24 ore dalla conferma dell'ordine.
