Un interessante resoconto di viaggio, in cui l'autore, scienziato, descrive le osservazioni fatte nel corso dell'esplorazione di questo particolare ed affascinante territorio tropicale, per la maggior parte montuoso, granitico, coperto di foresta vergine. Davvero splendida l'iconografia. In ottimo stato il volume. Prima edizione, poco comune.

Edition originale posthume publiée par la famille de l'auteur, de cette étude économique documentée, composée à la suite d'un voyage d'étude à la tête d'une mission aux Guyanes française, anglaise et hollandaise. L'auteur mourut précocement des suites du paludisme à l'âge de 29 ans. Portrait de l'auteur en héliogravure et une carte dépliante en fin. Statistiques in et hors texte. Contient en annexe, des statistiques sur le régime des terres et des concessions en Guyane, ainsi que une bibliographie détaillée des Guyanes en 191 références. Bel exemplaire, très frais, très bien relié.
