Such large-paper copies are highly desirable since the regular edition was printed on cheap woodpulp paper which is now crumbling into dust. [4], 383 pp. 8vo. Attractively bound in quarter calf and marbled boards, spine gilt. Minimal wear to edges of boards, else a fine and uncut copy. Extremely rare in this state.

Bella tela edit. verde, ottimo es, quasi perfetta la sovracc. edit. col ritr. fotogr. del giovane valoroso e poverissimo, che era partito esploratore in Brasile nel 1946 e poi solo e senza mezzi in Guiana, dopo aver partecipato attivamente alla Resistenza in Francia; la sua sparizione alimentò incredibili speculazioni giornalistiche, e causò inutili ricerche (per 12 anni!) da parte di suo padre e l'impazzimento della madre.
