An anonymous account by a field officer relating the unsuccessful British attempt under Lieut. Gen. Whitelocke to recapture Buenos Aires in 1807. The articles of the treaty ceasing hostilities between the Spanish and the British signed on July 7 1807 are included. Following this narrative the author provides a "brief description of the country and a short account of such circumstances as came under our observation in those parts we passed through."
