Tuttavia pronti ad affiorare c'erano anche i segnali di una società in evoluzione. Nelle sue strade nei suoi parchi nei suoi club e cafè Larrain testimonia una città" in movimento verso un nuovo decennioo. Mai piubblicate prima queste eloquenti fotografie sono il ritratto vivido e presente di una Londra scomparsa ormai da tempo.<br /><br />"L'atmosfera sia come la intendeva Brandt sia intesa in senso metereologico è"; palpabile nelle fotografie di Larrain di una Londra invernale densa di smog e di fumi di carbone ulteriormente accentuata dall'uso di un apparecchio fotografico di piccole dimensioni e di una pellicola in bianco e nero a grana grossa. Tutto questo unito alla spontaneità e ad un occhio straordinario per la composizione e le connessioni visive dà alle fotografie di Larrain un carattere distintivo che le rende altamente personali e al tempo stesso documenti significativi del periodo. Nella loro sfida ai consueti clichè pittorici esse si accomunano forse al famoso lavoro di Robert Frank The Americans pubblicato per la priam volta a Parigi nel 1958.
