José Batlle y Ordóñez who was president from 1903 to 1907 and from 1911 to 1915 fearing that his reforms might be overturned by a future president sought to replace the presidency with a plural executive the colegiado but he lost in the elections. He did however manage to reach a compromise with his opponents so that in the constitution of 1918 executive responsibility was divided between the president and a National Council of Administration. Unrecorded Uruguayan currency converter designed to assist with the revaluation of gold which was passed in 1856. Under the new legislation the onza de oro was revalued from 16000 to 15360 and the patacon to 960 centesimos. The present work is a series of tables converting patacones to pesos with overall relative values indicated on the final page. Rare and ephemeral designed for use and eventual discard when the monetary system changed again less than ten years later. OCLC locates only two other works by this publisher. Not in Estrada.
