Prince Arthur Arthur William Patrick Albert first Duke of Connaught and Strathearn 1850-1942. was posted to Canada on military duty in 1869-70 serving during the Red River Rebellion and the Fenian Raid of 1870. The proposed railway from Levis Quebec to Kennebec Maine was to connect with a railway under construction from Lexington Maine to Kennebec. The president of the company was the Hon. J. G. Blanchet - Speaker Legislative Assembly the Vice President the Hon. Thomas McGreevy M.P. and directors included the Mayor of Quebec P. Garneau and J.
