Electric Tulips 5.1 was conceived as a dialogue between an imaginary literary critic Gallo and the poet Gallo and revolves around the writing and presentation of his poem Electric Tulips 5.1. The essay which results Future Preterite by the esteemed critic Alessandro S. Stompanado is intended to emulate that of the essay by James Joyce written under the pseudonym Vladimir Dixon; and which appeared in the Sylvia Beach publication of 1929: Our Exagmination Round His Factification for Incamination of Work in Progress in which Joyce writes an appreciation of his own novel Ulysses. As such the book is a multi-layered pastiche of both literary and typographic treatments along with a magnificent double gatefold presentation of the poem in eight colors each of the seven stanzas in a separate color and the seminal tulip in an eighth; the type all set by hand and printed letterpress and polymer from Permanent Headline Open from the now defunct foundry Ludwig & Mayer. <br/><br/> privately printed unknown books

During this hearing Representative John Lewis of Georgia stated "The Voting Rights Act helped expand our democracy and open up our democracy to elect hundreds of thousands and millions of our citizens who had been kept out let them in. The Voting Rights Act was needed then and it is needed now. The purpose of section 5 is very unique and very important. It prevents discriminatory plans from being enacted in the first place. It put the burden on the judiciary to show that the plan does not discriminate against minority voters. Congress Lewis continued "Prior to section 5 the burden was on the minority voters to challenge the voting practice; and every section was good at coming up with different procedures that had the same result discrimination. Anita Earls' testimony talks in some detail about the recent example how this is still happening. The difference is that we have section 5 to prevent these practices from harming minority voters. Many people like the court said that we have come a long ways; and again today I would say that we've come a distance. We've come a long way and that is true. We're not the same Nation that we were 40 years ago but it's clear today that we have not come far enough. Section 5 is still needed. Today section 5 prevents discrimination and redistricting and changes that move voting locations out of minority neighborhoods into less accessible areas. In all 48 volumes 24 are 4¼" x 2¾ and the minis are 4¼" x 5½" plus 4 others a bit larger; written illustrated and published by Carolyn Swiszcz much in color; printed by photocopier or offset all in chapbook form some stapled some in concertina format generally fine and contained in Swiszcz's hand-made boxes. Zebra Cat Zebra is a bi-monthly mail-order zine which according to OCLC began publication in May 2017 actually 2016 although Swiszcz notes that the series as such did not begin in earnest until 2017. As she writes on her website "The name is inspired by the author hearing her father spell their last name to people on the phone "Z as in 'zebra ' C as in 'cat ' Z as in 'zebra!' I write about childhood memories my neighborhood and other personal observations." The printers included Jennifer Bowman; Monica Brosi; Brittany Lynn Egli; Hayley Fisher; Josh Heffelfinger; Nikki Ivanovsky-Schow; Kadi Melissa Kaelin; Nina Keim; Mercedes Knapp; Kevin Martin; Josh Meillier; Taylor Mund; Xochitl Perez; Isaac Ruder; Rebeca Solares; and Linda Tran all under the tutelage of the late Jody Williams instructor at Minnesota College of Art and Design. Breckenridge 1903-2003 a noted conservationist and ornithologist was also the director at the James Ford Bell Museum of Natural History at the University of Minnesota 1946-1970 and he wrote and illustrated numerous articles and books on natural history. The copper plates featuring exquisite images of native Minnesota wildlife were loaned to Jody Williams at MCAD by the Breckenridge family through the kindness of John Moriarty the Senior Manager for Wildlife at Three Rivers Park District and an honorary fellow of the Bell Museum. In his notes for his own Hermetic Press archive Gallo notes: "The invitations tend toward the decorative this most particularly with the early ones when there was a camaraderie of competitiveness among the printers: Gerald Lange Michael Tarachow Norm Fritzberg Allan Kornblum and Gaylord Schanilec. Consequently these invitations display a wide range of handset foundry typefaces designed not only to be sparkling works but to spark typographic conversations." While this collection is a long way from being complete and many as yet undetermined as to printer or press this offering of 125 is by far the largest group of such invitations ever to come on the market. Baker is used for the display designed by Russell Maret in Rome in 2010 and cast in metal by Ed Rayher in 2016. The text is printed letterpress on dampened Langley handmade in 1986 at the Barcham Green Hayle Mill an English paper mill long closed. Two watermarks can be seen throughout one of which includes the date. The cover is persimmon-washed Belgian flax paper handmade at Cave Paper in Minneapolis Minnesota. The artwork consists of photographs by Carolee Campbell of selected details from the first in a series of large-scale two-fold wood engravings by Gaylord Schanilec showing a flock of American White Pelicans Pelecanus erythrorhynchos taking off from the shore along Lake Pepin. The engravings are inserted into the 2015 Midnight Paper Sales publication Lac des Pleurs Report from Lake Pepin by Gaylord Schanilec. Both engravings and text were printed by Schanilec at his press in Stockholm Wisconsin. The photographs were executed in 2019 with permission especially for this edition of Departures. The photographs were printed digitally on Japanese Nyodo Kozo-shi using Epson UltraChrome K3 inks. The design presswork binding and photography are by Carolee Campbell at Ninja Press with the assistance of Farida Sunada in the bindery. Well known as a master of the wood engraving and fine press printer publishing under the imprint of Midnight Paper Sales with Departures Schanilec brings his particular poetic voice to the page in this inaugural volume of poems. <br/><br/> Ninja Press unknown books

This was a newsletter published by Mick and Laurie McCuiston so that On the Tracks subscribers could have Dylan information between the three yearly publications of their fanzine. It offered a "comprehensive news coverage on concert dates TV appearances album releases new books gossip etc." The publication of Series of Dreams started in July 1993 and ended in 2003; it was monthly sent untill May 1995 issue #23.
