CFA examination Wall Street Journal financial institutions investor investment concepts investment concepts investments market security markets asset allocation futures options derivative security markets Stocks Bonds gold silver commodites funds Even a cursory glance at The Wall Street Journal reveals a bewildering collection of securities markets and financial institutions. I used this book to help me prepare for the CFA examination. The book presents a wide spectrum of investment information in a easy to understand manner. The authors provide many examples to assist the reader in understanding many complicated investment concepts. I would say that this book is geared to someone already in the industry or for an individual that wishes to enter the industry or become a serious investor. I recommend this book highly without any reservations. Bodie/Kane/Marcus' book is the leading textbook in the graduate investments market. It is recognized as the best blend of practical and theoretical coverage while maintaining an appropriate rigor and clear writing style. Its unifying theme is that security markets are nearly efficient meaning that most securities are usually priced appropriately given their risk and return attributes. The text places greater emphasis on asset allocation and offers a much broader and deeper treatment of futures options and other derivative security markets than most investment texts.
