200874907Ann Arbor MI: University of Michigan Center for Radiative Shock Hydrodynamics CRASH 2008. Presumed First Edition of this CD. CD. Very good. This disc approximately 4.5 inches in diameter has 12 pdf files including PDT Scaling Dimensional Reduction Experiment & Hyades Models Design and other topics including input from students. The Center for Radiative Shock Hydrodynamics CRASH is advancing predictive science in the area of radiation hydrodynamics RH via a unified multi-prong approach. To substantially improve the ability to do predictive simulations of high - energy - density and astrophysical flows Center researchers are: Developing a software framework for RH to serve as a testbed for development verification and validation of RH modeling elements. Developing a system for hierarchically validating the software framework. Extending an existing experimental effort centered on radiative shocks to obtain data and quantify uncertainties in the experiments. Simulating these experiments and quantifying the accuracy of the simulations. Establishing a doctoral program for Predictive Science and Engineering. The CRASH team comprised of researchers from the University of Michigan and Texas A&M University are experts in: Numerical methods for fluids plasmas and radiation transport; Uncertainty quantification and propagation; High - energy - density physics experiments and theory; Applied mathematics; Software engineering and computer science; Parallelization of radiation transport algorithms. The potential impacts of the project include NNSA lab use of advanced methods in radiation hydrodynamic simulations and methods for uncertainty quantification developed in the Center and the hiring by the laboratories of people trained in predictive radiation hydrodynamics through the Center. 201522641Chicago IL: Brian Seed Studios 2015. First Edition. First Printing. Hardcover. As New/No Dust Jacket As Issued. Chicago IL: Brian Seed Studios 2015. Hardcover. As New/None As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 1 pages. Rare Brian Seed collectible piece. A pristine archival digital black-and-white print of one of his most iconic images signed on verso by Brian Seed. Comes from his landmark body of work and now widely considered as among the greatest "street photography" oeuvre of the 20th century. Print size is 10 X 8 inches. Eminently suitable for framing. Encased in its own protective plastic sheet. Without DJ as issued. There is no ISBN. The print is now rare. Presents Brian Seed's "Lake Michigan Chicago". Shows four human figures and "bodies" on Lake Michigan captured in one un-posed image: A man whose back we see. A sun-bathing bikini-clad woman the focal point of the image. Another sun-bathing bikini-clad woman reading a book while holding the hand of another figure whose own hand can be seen but little else the rest of his or her figure cropped by the photographer. All of them are semi-nude and relaxing on a lazy summer day. A beautifully realized and composed image showing Brian Seed at his very best. It is all in all a perfect image effortlessly sensuous and sexy. Today a similar image would have to be produced and directed by a magazine or newspaper photographer with professional models in order to achieve the same impression of spontaneity and sexiness at the same time. An absolute "must-have" collectible not just memorabilia piece for Brian Seed collectors. This print is very prominently and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on verso by Brian Seed. It is signed directly on the print itself not on a tipped-in page. This print is a late-modern art photography classic. As far as we know this is the only copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean crisp and bright. Please note: Digital prints are archival and will last longer than analog prints. They do not fade with time. At the same time it is also undeniable and must be stated here for the sake of full disclosure that analog prints are desirable because they are hand-made and are no longer being produced as such by almost all contemporary photographers. Brian Seed prints command thousands of dollars from galleries. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare signed print thus. One of the finest photographers of the 20th century. A fine collectible print. . Brian Seed Studios hardcover
