La diffusione di ambasciatori residenti comportò un forte incremento della corrispondenza epistolare e un progresso nella gestione dell’informazione, dalle registrazioni cancelleresche alle procedure di archiviazione, dai servizi postali alle tecniche di manipolazione delle notizie raccolte. I dispacci in volgare – il metaforico ‘mundo de carta’ dell’inviato diplomatico – sono qui analizzati dal punto di vista grafico, formale, linguistico (caratteri intrinseci ed estrinseci, falsi, scritture segrete, volgare cancelleresco, formule epistolari).
