At the time when she annotated it she was over 80 years old and so was confused as to which yacht it was as it could be the Victoria and Albert the Standart or the Polar Star as they are all very similar to look at. unknown

Herreshoff owning both a sloop and a catamaran one of only two in the club. Extremely rare survival WorldCat shows Brown holding a copy of the 1876 issue and no others. Duodecimo 152 x 108 mm. Club badge verso of title page. Sewn as issued in the original violet printed glazed card wrappers. A little rubbed and oiled a couple of chips from the lower panel of the wrappers contemporary inked docketing as a duplicate to the upper panel light toning but a very good copy. This pamphlet officially confirms the American yacht's victory. It is related to the "Brenton's Reef" pamphlet which we also offer for sale because the English yacht "Genesta" after being defeated in the 1885 America's Cup races participated in the Brenton's Reef race a couple of weeks later and was victorious against the American yacht "Dauntless."
