Of particular interest is a report by George O. Squire "The Present Status of Military Aeronautics" pp. 117-144. It is a survey of worldwide developments in aeroplane heavier than air and dirigible designs and practice. Significant discussion of the testing of the Wright Brothers aircraft in September 1908 at Fort Myer VA. Includes many black and white pictures of aircraft and dirigibles including pictures of the Wright Brothers aircraft tested at Fort Myer. This piece is followed by an article by Pierre-Roger Jourdain "Aviation in France in 1908" pp. 145-159. Jourdain's article is from a conference under the auspices of the association of former pupils of the Faculty of Sciences of Paris in December 1908. It was translated from the Reveue Scientifique Paris February 13 1909. Quiet early scientific material on aviation. This copy with a previous owner name of Reinhardt Thiessen on the front free endpaper. Likely the same Thiessen that was a chemist and researcher and an authority of the origin and composition of coal. Government Printing Office unknown
