Die interessante Publikation wurde höchstwahrscheinlich zum Einzug des Bezirksamts Steglitz in das nach langer Verzögerung fertiggestellte neue Hochhaus (der sogenannte Steglitzer "Kreisel") zu Jahresbeginn 1980 herausgegeben. Auseinandergefaltet hat die Kartenpublikation ein Maß von etwa 82,5 x 94 cm. Sie enthält eingangs einen einführenden Text zur Geschichte von Steglitz bis zum Jahr 1980. Es folgt eine sehr detaillierte Aufschlüsselung über die einzelnen Abteilungen des Bezirksamts und ihren jeweiligen Ort im Hochhaus. Sehr interessant ist auch die Rückseite der entfalteten Publikation: diese zeigt insgesamt vier Karten (schwarz/weiss) zum Bezirk Steglitz zu den verschiedenen Zeitpunkten: 1850 / 1890 / 1907 / 1927. Jede der Karten nimmt dabei etwa ein Viertel der Gesamtfläche ein. Seltene Berliner Archivalie rund um das hoch diskutierte Gebäude!
