With diagrams illustrations text illustrations throughout. Flexible printed black vinyl white & red lettering black plastic-comb binding as issued yapp fore-edges minor edgewear rubbing still VG copy w/ date stamp & limitation on Table of Contents page. First edition “Advance Copy†# 7 of 10 of this exceedingly scarce promotional sales proposal for the Boeing 738 Military Transport Aircraft based on the Boeing 707 and early precursor to what would later become the Boeing 737 whereas the Model 735 would have been a civilian 707-based freighter to compete with the Douglas DC-8. These were developed by the Boeing Transport Division in light of the company’s in-house 1958-1961 reports that air operations would sharply expand by 1965 and grossly under-predicted the company’s production of 707 and 727 aircraft. By reconfiguring wing length combining features from both the Boeing 707 and the C-135 Boeing engineers in this proposal closely foreshadowed the developments which led to the Boeing 737. The Boeing 737 would later go onto become the highest selling commercial aircraft with current backlogs of later generations now above 4200 aircraft on order. Although initially facing slow sales numbers the 737 program was basically kept alive by the US Air Force order T-43’s which were modified Boeing 737-200’s. After the US Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 demand quickly improved and airports airport planning new runways and ground maneuvering had to be incorporated into local airports across the World.
