194049051Greenville: Tri-State Coaches 1940. 1940. MISSISSIPPI DELTA BUS TRANSPORTATION. 8 1/2" x 7" in saddle-stapled printed wrappers. 10 pp. including wrappers. Illustrated. Route maps. Rare booklet from Tri-State Coaches promoting Greenville Mississippi as a transportation hub for their bus service in 1940. This piece is printed from entirely hand-drawn copy giving it a naive and charming feel from the ice-encrusted lettering of "AIR CONDITIONED coaches" to cursive treatment of certain key words to the drawing of one of the buses on the back cover. Centerfold map printed in red and black. It's intriguing to imagine who was riding these routes around and out of the Mississippi Delta in 1940--blues musicians Negro league baseball players African Americans headed north in the Great Migration etc. An amazing survivor and tangible bit of history. Some minor extremity rubs minor soil and a horizontal crease across midsection from booklet being folded long ago. A bit of rust around staples otherwise clean and sound. Tri-State Coaches, [1940]. unknown

Richard seems to have sourced fiberglass aerodynamic and ground effects packages from the prominent boutique customizer Greenwood also packaging his own custom-designed modifications to the seminal American sports car including options for wood-inlayed dashboards upgraded wheel packages etc… <br /> <br />The included brochures contain a photocopied appearance on the company in a 1987 issue of MOTOR TREND magazine: <br /> <br />"Distinctly styled Corvettes is another tuner that turns out high quality work. We had the opportunity to drive three examples from the company including a striking Callaway Twin Turbo and left quite impressed with the company’s commitment. Like Quality Motorsports Distinctly Styled Corvettes uses a number of Greenwood components. Special care is used in mating these pieces to the body and color-matching the paint. The company is also noted for individual touches like adding Corvette badges to the targa bar and gold lettering of engine identification. <br /> <br />Distinctly Styled Corvettes often uses BBB component wheels and mates them with Michelin XGT tires. Genuine wood dash panels are also a frequently installed modification. The firm’s prices vary considerably since each car is built to the owner’s preference. Typical modifications generally run between $2000 and $5000.†Motor Trend September 1987; p. 44 <br /> <br />A must-have primary source photographic archive depicting the iconic late 1980’s American Sports car. Before the Oregon Auto Stage Terminal was built countless unlicensed and registered companies stationed themselves at corners hotels and spots throughout the city resulting in many complaints from both tourists and residents. The OAST Co. established a well organized system that allowed more than 10000 passengers to be carried every year and these Fageol buses along with White Co. coaches were especially popular on the windy and picturesque route along the Columbia River Highway.
