Very good condition with only very minor signs of external wear. Pages yellowing with age and some slight stained in places. Inscribed note to the owner on title page. Also signed and inscribed by the author. A small hand written note inserted at the back. Clean inside with solid binding. "The following letters were written by the Reverend John Hamilton Pagan B.D. during a long illness from his stoep in De Aar and other places in Cape Colony to the Boys and Girls of the Presbyterian Church of South Africa. They were printed monthly "The Presbyterian Churchman" along with a series of questions on Scripture and were eagerly welcomed by a large circle of readers. Mr Pagan died on the 14th September 1913. The Editorial Committee have resolved to publish his letters in this collected form as they believe that many will be glad to have such a memorial of a man greatly beloved and a faithful Minister of Jesus Christ".
