With dustwrapper artwork by Michael Harvey. Effectively a sequel to his splendid 'Bugles and a Tiger' (1956). Masters served as a middle-ranking officer in Burma throughout the war. This striking personal record of service with Gurkhas and Chindits (including his participation in Operation BLACKPOOL) therefore stands between the more usual views of generals and private soldiers, and includes illuminating portraits of Slim, Wingate and Stilwell among others.
