An albumen photograph of an ancient Canton Guangzhou landmark known as the Five Storey pagoda once part of the city wall which still stands today in the city's largest park Yue Xiu Park. The pagoda also known as Zhenhai Tower was built in 1380 by Zhu Liangzu during the Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 and stands on the Yuexiu Hill. It is 92 feet high and has been destroyed and rebuilt five times. The building now houses the City Museum which exhibits the history of Canton from Neolithic times. 5 1/2 x 4". Printed on lightweight paper very small mark upper right not on the image. unknown
