Si tratta del primo manuale pratico per studenti di Zen e Kyudo, ed è basato sugli allenamenti del Chozen-ji, una scuola dove le arti marziali sono integrate con formali sedute Zen. Il Kyudo praticato al Chozen-ji è la via della fusione dell'aspetto spirituale e di quello mentale con la realtà concreta e tangibile della vita di ogni giorno. Nella sua essenza il Kyudo è la "Via dell'arco", e come tale fornisce i mezzi per acquisire un grado di concentrazione necessario a creare uno stile di vita che esprima una perfetta serenità mentale. La freccia che penetra all'interno di una simile condizione non è la freccia stessa, ma una "freccia vivente" ovvero lo spirito stesso del Kyudoka.

Issued as a post-incunable folio this example is bound in modern full leather tooled in a Renaissance style with five raised bands and a red gilt-titled spine label. The book is complete collated at CXV 1 leaves pagination errors expected and printed in a clear Roman typeface consistent with early sixteenth-century presses. The leaves are clean and well-preserved with margins measuring generously across the gatherings. Subject matter includes moral discourses and mythological references such as Achilles Anacreon Helen and Vulcan. This edition is cited in Adams M 936 and USTC 841641.
