RIGA DI LETTURA AL DORSO, PER IL RESTO OTTIME, ECCELLENTISSIME CONDIZIONI GENERALI Il volume ripercorre, attraverso saggi, testimonianze, relazioni e una ricca documentazione fotografica, le venticinque edizioni della Scuola per Librai, promossa da Messaggerie Italiane, Messaggerie libri, ALI - Associazione Librai Italiani, AIE - Associazione Italiana Editori, e in collaborazione con la Fondazione Giorgio Cini. Primo esempio in Italia, secondo in Europa, dopo Francoforte, la Scuola per Librai Umberto e Elisabetta Mauri nasce nel 1983 per volontà di Luciano Mauri in memoria del padre Umberto, a lungo presidente dell'ALI, e della figlia Elisabetta, prematuramente scomparsa. L'intento è quello di ridefinire la figura professionale del libraio, adeguandola ai nuovi ritmi della produzione del libro, formandola su strumenti di analisi e metodi innovativi e aggiornandola sulle esperienze professionali. Dal 1984 la Scuola organizza corsi intensivi di perfezionamento a Venezia, nella prestigiosa sede della Fondazione Cini, e corsi monografici di approfondimento a Milano. Tutti, dagli autori agli editori e soprattutto i librai, dicono la loro sui libri, imparano e insegnano. La Scuola, oltre ad aver formato nuove generazioni di librai appassionati e competenti, è diventata nel tempo un laboratorio di sperimentazione e discussione che si estende a tutti gli aspetti che coinvolgono l'attività della libreria-impresa fondata su una proposta di servizio competitivo. 1958B53<p>Published only five years after the Iranian Premier Mohammad Mossadegh was removed from power in the 1953 coup organized and financed by the British and United States governments bringing the Shah into power.</p><p>This guide book was aimed at American wives accompanying their husbands and families to Iran and is a window for foreigners into life in Iran in the late 1950's and early 60's. It contains a brief bibliography of books on Iran none of which mention the recent coup a dated list of major holidays a concise dictionary and useful phrases for speaking to servants. Its list of stores in Tehran "commonly used by English speaking women" includes those where everything from pork to cosmetics to lampshades can be purchased.</p><p>Includes three indexed fold-out maps: Points of Interest Municipal Facilities Churches in Tehran; Shopping Map Tehran; and Shemiranat.</p><p>An extremely scarce ephemeral book with Stanford University Library holding the only OCLC copy.</p><p>In good overall condition with the fragile paper wrapper separated from the textblock.
