The two women are our author and her co-author Lady Evelyn Murray Cobbold. Another edition but under Cobbold's name appeared in London in the same year. This preface is signed NY Oct 1. 1912.<br /> Cobbold later converted to Islam changed her name to Zainab Cobbold and was the first British woman to make the hajj at the age of 65 in 1933. Little more is known of Frances Alexander who married Allen Gouverneur Wellman in 1910. G.P. Putnam's Sons unknown
