Laube who taught dance in the 1870's to Richmond's young ladies at Levy's Hall at the corner of Main and 11th Streets. Very nice Richmond Association item. The committee citing her exceptional business insight then elected Miss Pelletreau as President a title she kept for 14 years until her retirement in 1894. The Academy was housed in two buildings -- one containing a study hall and four classrooms and the other containing the primary school --located just south of the College on Lombardy and Park. We particularly like the page dedicated to the "Academy Chapter of Knights of Inertia and Lassitude" Place of Meeting: "Biach right-hand corner of study hall". Limited issue numbered 15 of only 25 copies and signed by Morehead and presented to General Julian S. Carr.
