Binding is rubbed at extremities embossed title lettering on spine is dull with light wear at base of spine and tips of corners front hinge is just started due to delicate floral endpapers text is evenly tanned due to quality of paper with small faint stain on fore-edge of last few page of text else a tight very good copy. This collected edition with three titles in one volume is unrecorded by OCLC which does note three holdings of 'The Haunted Chamber' separately printed by this publisher. Irish novelist Margaret Wolfe Hungerford was born in Cork Ireland; her father was Canon Fitzjohn Stannus Hamiltion rector at St. Faughnan's cathedral in Rosscarbery. A first hand account of these campaigns written by Colonel Sir Thomas Hungerford Holdich who was Superintendent of Frontier Surveys in British India. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally generally smart. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Gilt has faded from the boards. Spine is a little faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm rear hinge is a little strained. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Half-title and frontispiece are detaching.
