First edition of this program for the wildly popular “Wings of a Century†pageant which served as the major showpiece of the Century of Progress Exposition running several times a day for the two-year run. Directed by the Chicago theatre impresario Helen Tieken 1902-1987 she managed to direct 100’s of actors life size ships wagons trains planes and automobiles running across the stage tracing the evolution of transportation. She served as assistant to Max Reinhardt originally and was a prolific theatre producer and director in Chicago through World War II.
