Le premier article relate une anecdote survenue à la cour d'Angleterre. Un « Sauvage de l'isle d'Otaïty » y avait été présenté au Roi, non sans avoir été auparavant longuement instruit d'un compliment qu'il devait faire mais qu'il ne put restituer « le pauvre Sauvage avait tout oublié ». Selon l'auteur de l'article, il reconnut alors dans l'assistance l'explorateur Joseph Banks « qu'il avait vu dans son isle et l'aborda avec les signes de la plus grande satisfaction ».

Janeau (1859-1944) was a picpucien missionary in French Polynesia. Printed on very good wove paper. This volume covers the saints whose days fall through June 30; the second volume was never published. Small 8vo. Bound in original cloth-backed boards. Decorative endpapers. Boards a bit worn, but still structurally solid. Internally FINE AND BRIGHT, with no defects. EXTREMELY RARE: WorldCat locates only two copies, both in the South Pacific (Oceania and Hawaii).
