1954JC210-2690Paris: Rene Julliard 1954. Paperback. Good. Wraps. From the library of Douglas Fairbanks Jr. 1909-2000 -- an iconic American actor from Hollwood's Golden Era and a highly decorated naval officer of World War II -- with his bookplate on the verso of the front flyleaf. Inscribed to him by Chevalier on the half-title page. His connection to Chevalier seems to be a long one: Fairbanks Sr. 1883-1939 offered Chevalier a star billing with Mary Pickford but Chevalier was hesitant to perform in a silent film. It is ilkely that their paths crossed often as Chevalier primarily associated with Paramount studios and Fairbanks were part of a prolific and powerful Hollywood coterie that included such giants as Charlie Chaplin and D. W. Griffith. Covers a little chipped at corners and along spine; leaves brittle and mostly unopened.

Rene Julliard paperback books
